Just behind my house

I live on the edge of a country road, Most times we can hear the cars whipping up the steep hill behind our house, Which leads up Red Hill named after the Maori soldiers who were lost In the deep gorges of the Hunua Ranges, yea just behind my house. I live in an old street, with old houses  and old people  llike a twilight this seven house cul de sac street Sits in Retirement Whilst the rest of this place is at war with itself We are stuck in an airy silence much like the calm before a storm I sit on the edge of my chair, waiting in anticipation for the violence that preceeds the silence.
